PROGRAMME 2 0 1 9 |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
The programme started in 1996 as an ethno, folk and folk rock festival,
which in the past twelve years we tried to develop into a versatile
series of events that offers value alternatives for a wide range of
audience in various art forms. The first elebven years passed in the
sign of continuous extension of programmes. Besides music concerts,
alternative music, dance theatre and fine art programmes on a similar
conceptual base have become organic elements of the festival in the
past seven years. Twice the festival was complemented with a national contest for amateur folk and ethno bands. So far over 240 bands and performers (many internationally acclaimed ones like Félix Lajkó, Márta Sebestyén, David Yengibarjan, the Kaláka, the Muzsikás, Ghymes (SK), Druzina (SK), Golce Folk Band (PL), Kormorán, Tomás Kocko Orchestr (Cz), Gipsy.cz (CZ), Czeremszyna (PL), Lot Lorien (BG), Cimbaliband, Fabula Rasa, Makám, Rzepczyno (PL), Deneb (CZ), Ravi (GB), Deti Picasso (RU), Langa (SLO) Lingua Loca (D) Phoenix Folk (DK), Curtis Eller (USA), Brooklyn Gypsies (USA) and many others) as well as 15 theatrical performances (some of them as award-winners at alternative theatre festivals) have contributed to giving unforgettable memories for the young audiences. The events in 2018 are the organic
continuation of the previous festivals with several sites - in the centre
of Szolnok: on a part of the promenade by the River Tisza, on the big
stage on the square by the Town Gallery, by TiszaPart Cinema. The dates of the festival are linked to our festivities: 19-20
August (St. Stephen's Day). |
